Lemon Balm is traditionally known for its lemon-minty fragrance and its sedative, calming effects on the nervous system and digestive system. Soothes the digestive tract by relieving cramping, gas and pain. Additionally, antifungal and anti-bacterial properties can reduce or prevent infections. When rubbed onto the skin or fur it acts as an insect repellent.

Cats: Has been compared with catnip due to its calming effects and is particularly suitable for nervous, stressed and anxious cats or during times of stress, such as thunderstorms. Antimicrobial qualities support the clearing of respiratory infections and can be applied externally as insect repellent or to help disinfect wounds and cuts.
Dogs: Its calming, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties make it a suitable remedy for most. Antispasmodic qualities aid to relieve digestive ailments, particularly gas. Commonly used to reduce anxiety, irritability, sleep disorders and stress. Topical applications may aid with ringworm infections. Best added directly to food or into drinking or bathing water.
Rabbits: Lemon Balm is a great dried herb for rabbits that can be added to your rabbits hay pile and spread around their enclosure sparingly.
